Antique Bisque Pincushion / Hatpin Holder
Antique Bisque Pincushion / Hatpin Holder
This charming antique bisque pincushion or hatpin holder, possibly German in origin, features an exquisitely detailed bisque child in formal wear, posed beside the opening that supports the cushion. The bisque itself is in excellent condition, showcasing very fine facial and clothing details characteristic of early German bisque work.
The fabric pincushion and cloth flowers show age-related fading, and there are rust marks on the cushion from past use with pins. The cushion appears to be a later or post-production addition and may be removable as it is a bit loose on one side. A small bit of discoloration on the base is consistent with antique age and display.
Petite and delicate, this piece measures approximately 3 inches tall, making it a wonderful addition to a sewing collection, vanity display, or antique German figurine grouping.
