Vintage Japanese Satsuma Style Vase
Vintage Japanese Satsuma Style Vase
Make a striking statement with this vintage Japanese Satsuma-style vase, beautifully decorated with a detailed geisha motif and rich moriage (raised enamel) detailing. This eye-catching piece features two elegant handles and a warm, earthy color palette of brown, orange, blue, and gold, highlighted with hand-applied gilt accents.
Marked “Made in Japan” in red on the base, this vase dates to the mid-century era and showcases the craftsmanship and decorative style popular in Japanese export porcelain of the period. Despite light, age-appropriate wear, it remains in very good vintage condition with only minor gold paint loss, a very small flaw, and a small missing spot of paint under one handle (please see photos). All imperfections are subtle and do not detract from its impressive display presence.
Measuring approximately 5 inches tall, this vase is perfect for a shelf, mantel, or curio cabinet and displays beautifully on its own or as part of an Asian-inspired vignette.
